Become a Prayer Partner Prayer Partners have no financial obligation to SOAP. Although many do choose to support the ministry on a monthly basis, all that is asked of the Prayer Partner is to pray regularly for the child assigned to them for that year. Learn more about how to Become a Prayer Partner. Many who have prayed faithfully for SOAP have been led by God to partner with this ministry financially as well. As God lays it upon the hearts of people and churches to financially support this ministry, we encourage individuals to give through their local church if possible. Funds may be given online through our mission agency, Baptist International Missions, Inc. (BIMI). Please be sure to mention SOAP and account #162 in your designation. Funds may also be mailed to the following address: Soroti Orphan Assistance Project You may also give by phone, ACH bank debit, or through your estate. Visit BIMI's Giving Page to learn more. All financial donations received through BIMI will receive a tax receipt. Please contact us directly if you would like to send donations of clothes, school supplies, food products, etc. to our Uganda address. These items are gladly received to use in providing for the needs of the orphans; however, our USA address is not able to process these donations. Customs and duty regulations also limit some of the goods we can receive in Uganda, so please contact us before sending material needs. Serving these precious children is indeed a blessing. God has formed a great team of missionaries and national staff. There are opportunities for both career and short-term missionaries to serve at SOAP. All career missionaries are independent Baptist missionaries sent by their local church and serve with BIMI. Short-term missionaries are often college juniors, seniors, or graduates who commit to a term of 1-12 months. Each missionary, whether career or short-term, raises support and serves by faith. No SOAP funds are used to provide salaries to missionaries. All SOAP funds are used for direct in-country expenses related to providing care for the children. One of the greatest short-term needs is Christian college education majors or experienced Christian School teachers who would be willing to teach for 4-12 months. Career missionaries – both singles and married couples – are also needed to serve in the varied aspects of the overall ministry here. If you would be interested in serving at SOAP, please contact us for more information. |
