About Prayer Partners

From the beginning, SOAP (Soroti Orphan Assistance Project) has sought the prayerful support of friends like you as we seek to train orphan children to serve the Lord.  One of our goals is to teach the children to trust God to meet all of their needs – just as we as a ministry trust God daily to meet the needs of SOAP.  While God uses people like you to accomplish His purpose, we know that ultimately He is the One providing. To help the children to recognize that God is the One who supplies our needs, we do not have a program to "sponsor a child." Instead, we have a Prayer Partner program in which partners receive photos and a history for a child as well as our regular SOAP newsletters.

Prayer Partners have no financial obligation to SOAP. Although many do choose to support the ministry on a monthly basis, all that is asked of the Prayer Partner is to pray regularly for the child assigned to them for that year. Each year we introduce them to a different child.  As they get to know several of the SOAP children, our hope is that the Prayer Partners will have a broader understanding of what God is doing here at SOAP and how they may better be able to pray for this ministry. Rather than limiting involvement to those who could "sponsor" an individual child, the Prayer Partner program allows many to become involved in the lives of each child, even though they are not able to give financially to SOAP.  In this way, every child has several "prayer warriors" upholding them before the Lord. We believe this is the greatest investment anyone can make in this ministry.

Mrs. Debbie Guimon, wife of the late Dr. Kyle Guimon who began SOAP, handles our North American correspondance and is ready to introduce you to one of these precious children.
